March 2013 Fitness Challenge: Week 1 Update
My March Fitness Challenge is to exercise 5 times a week. I’ve done well in the first week. My workouts have looked something like this.
Friday – Quiet Hotel Workout
Saturday – day off
Sunday – 25 minute run around Jardin du Luxemburg
Monday -10k run in Paris centre
Tuesday – day off
Wednesday – 4.44 mile run along Canal Saint Martin
Thursday – 5.5 mile run around Buttes Chaumont Park and some strength exercises
I’m really happy I managed to run 4 times this week. It’s been fun trying out different running routes too.
For yesterday’s run I went back to Buttes Chaumont Park. This is my route. I decided to run the opposite way to last week to try to avoid running up the huge hill. It was better. You can tell by my average pace, 8:17/mile, which was much quicker than last week. It took me 45:51 to run 5.53 miles. I’m pleased with that, especially since there were still some hills during the run. When I got back from my run I wanted to do some strength exercises, but was lost for inspiration. Then I came across this workout on Fannetastic Food. I did 3 sets of the strength workout. It was my first time doing ‘Eagle Abs’ and they were tough!
