A Holiday At Home Makes For a Very Busy Time

I returned to Korea on Sunday after my holiday in England. I knew that the two weeks at home would be busy, but I didn’t realise how busy. Between family parties, nights out with friends, eating out and wedding dress shopping I barely had time to have a full nights sleep never mind anything else. I’m certainly not complaining, it was great. However, despite my best intentions, exercising mostly fell by the wayside. I still managed to eat all of the food I’d missed plus more. Not the best combination, but it was only for a couple of weeks.

January Christmas

I did manage to go out running a couple of times and I went for a few walks. It was lovely to run on paths that didn’t require me stopping at traffic lights every five minutes. Another thing I miss when living in Gwangju in Korea is not being close to a beach. On my first day back in England I went for a cold but sunny walk along the beach with my dad. Followed by a coffee and cake. Lovely.

South Shields Beach

I got slightly carried away before I left to come back and I might have bought a little bit too much Cadbury’s chocolate. You can look at the photo and judge for yourself. In my defense, some of it is to give to people as gifts. It’s going to be a busy four weeks getting through it all before we leave for Indonesia. Good job I started running properly again yesterday.

It's not all for me, honestly
